3 Days Family Trip – Kochi – Nelliyampathi – Malampuzha – Valparai (600 km)
Day 1 Kochi – Athirappilly- Nelliyampathi (220km)
Start from Kochi by 6.00am are reach at Athirappilly by 8.30.
Do trekking to waterfall if your health is good or just enjoy the views from the top.
Visit Malakkapara waterfall just 10 minutes from Athirapilli.
The road to Malakkapara is through a wildlife sanctuary and there are chances for spotting wild animals on the way.
Return by 11.30 am and drive to Nelliyampathi. (You need to cross the Nelliyampathi checkpost before 4pm and you have to show the stay booking details in checkpost to allow after 2.00 pm)
Reach at Nelliyampathi before 4pm and visit Seetharkundu view point, Keshavan para view point etc.
Stay in a resort in Nelliyampathi.
Day 2
Nelliyampathi – Kollengode – Malampuzha – 100 km
Checkout from the room after breakfast and visit few more places like Karapara hanging bridge, Karadi estate etc.
Visit Kollengode to enjoy the beauty of villages and paddy fields.
Visit Venkalakkayam Dam if you have enough time.
Drive to Malampuzha by atleast 3pm. (Need to reach in Malampuzha before 4pm and do cable car ride in Malampuzha dam.
Visit Malampuzha garden in the evening and spend fun time with family in the garden.
Stay in Malampuzha or palakkad. Day 3
Malampuzha to Valparai – Athirappilly- Kochi (270 km)
Start from the hotel by 6.00 am and have breakfast from Pollachi. Try the tamilnadu style food.
Almost 3 hours needed to drive From Pollachi to Valparai because there are 40 hairpin bends to reach the Valparai hill station.
Plastic water bottles or other plastic covers are not allowed to carry in this route and the officials will check from Aliyar checkpost.
Enjoy the hill station and tea plantation of Valparai and leave the place by atleast 2.00pm because the checkpost to Kerala will be open till 4.00pm only.
Drive to Kochi via forest route of Valparai- Athirappilly. The chances of seeing wild animals are high in this area especially elephants.
